Wi-Fi 7 feature on iPhone 16 turned out to be hollow!

Ana sayfa / News

Apple created a lot of excitement by introducing Wi-Fi 16 support in the new iPhone 7 series. However, it turns out that things are not quite as they seem. Those who closely examined the new feature were in for a surprise. Wi-Fi 7 support will be limited to 160MHz bandwidth. In other words, Apple only offers 160 MHz support instead of 320 MHz as in the previous iPhone 15 Pro series.

First of all, this limitation may prevent the big leap in Wi-Fi speeds that everyone has been waiting for. In particular, users who value high-speed internet may not be able to take full advantage of Wi-Fi 7. In tests, the iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro were unable to exceed 1.6 Gbps, while an Asus ZenBook S 14 laptop was able to reach speeds of 4 Gbps in the same tests.

So it’s clear that the device is a limiting factor in Wi-Fi performance. Of course, it remains to be seen why Apple has limited Wi-Fi 7 in this way. Perhaps there are other technical reasons, such as energy efficiency or hardware compatibility.

But from a user perspective, it clearly doesn’t make the big difference expected, especially for those looking for speed. How accurate do you think Apple’s choice in Wi-Fi 7 is? Is this limitation a hindrance to achieving faster speeds, or is it unnoticeable in everyday use? Let us know in the comments section below.
